=) I agree, what's the point in racing if you can't exchange a bit of paint. SSer's to me is like hotlapping... You can't up right up behind someone because you will push wide coming into a corner, you cant get up behind someone in the middle of the corner, and you cannot get up behind someone exiting a corner, the only time I could really pass was when I got a draft =)
He did make a fuss it's something I shouldn't have done and didn't realize until after I had already hit accept. No excusses, I should have verified license names to the CTRA database and it would have solved the issue right then and there, but I was at work and didn't...
Who is that? Sorry I don't know a racer by that username.
And yes we will, Just because a person has 'special' status doesn't mean they are above the regulations and they get to decide which rules they do, and don't follow.
The problem is not the 'fake' last name, the problem is the meaning behind the name and the translation of it in other languages... namely German, which is where eSport is located and a good majority of it's users are from.
benjiMC I will ask for someone to sort it out again, I don't have access.
If you have ever worked with commando's or Marines it's usually the latter Won't find a closer knit or better bunch of people though and if I was in their situations they would be the ones to have next to me, thats for sure =)
Your right, it is petter IMO, but if the driver isn't getting the message we need to take action to correct the behavour.
With verbal abuse most it will be is a warning or a caution and only in severe circumstances will it be more. All we want to do is let drivers know that this is not acceptable behavior
Ideally you should be able to get the person to realize yourself, but because of the nature of racers they tend to think they are right all the time and arguments tend to happen and we have to step in through the reporting process
The league is going ahead regardless of how many drivers have signed on, it's a great opportunity, and the drivers who have paid have realized this. This has been the impression Joe has given me and I am willing to put the time in for the drivers that have committed. It's just a matter of WHEN we start to get as many people as possible in the league before the green flag drops.
What makes BTCC, F1, WTCC, A1GP, NASCAR, WRC, ALMS, and CORR so interesting? Some series are better than others but they are highly rated not because every driver is top notch, but because of coverage it receives. And because of this coverage virtually every driver in the world wants to run one of these series.
What's special about BTCC? Nothing really, they just have great coverage on TV, same goes with NASCAR. The general caliber of driver is higher, but then real racing has been around for what, a 100 years? Sim racing has been around in organized for for less than a 10th of that.
the same could be said for people that run in club racing. The majority of them could not win a race, never mind a season, but they still pay their entrance fee's and membership duties every year.
It' not just about winning, it's about being part of something that is exciting and having a group of fun people around you that you get to know on an intimate level when racing that cannot be found in any pick-up races. Having a laugh and slapping each others back and comparing war stories from the race before and letting people know what your excited about with the next race.
Is the RACING going to be much different than any other league running GTR's? Possibly not, but for some drivers you will see them push themselves beyond normal limits when they know that their name will be thrown around and there are significant prizes available to those who put the extra distance in and perform better than anyone else.
What will be different is all the things you stated in your post and IMO those are kickass =) There can only be so many leagues and races held before one league looks like another, post production and live streaming is what holds this league above anyone else.
Well the ultimate solution is a solution that comes not from the system, but from the drivers themselves and their ability to reason maturely :melting:
With limited numbers, and with 1/2 the grid being filled within the last couple hours we would like to delay the the start of the season by another week. This will mean a more condensed season, but hopefully more drivers will sign up before they lose the opportunity to race all the events.
We don't want to do this though if the drivers already signed up don't want to wait, so nows your chance to let us know what you guys would prefer =)
The CTRA breeds tough competition IMO, with that comes high tension and frustration when things go wrong. How people handles these stresses reflects on their maturity and professionalism. I am guilty of losing my cool, as is everyone, but =)
Send in a report and we will remind the driver/s involved that this behavior is not acceptable in any condition.
Cheers for the support everyone! This is indeed where the best races in LFS league racing will be held, no doubt about it. With CTRA governing and sanctioning all of E-Sport's events you are Guaranteed to have some fair racing =)
